The most popular and cost-effective type of fencing is closeboard. This style of fencing is erected using timber posts that are set in concrete. Each bay is then fitted with bevelled rails and timber gravel boards before being clad with feather edge boards. The boards are then cut to the exact height required to suit your needs. For a more robust and durable option, we can install the closeboard fencing on concrete recessed posts and concrete gravel boards. This helps to minimise the amount of contact between the timber products and the ground moisture which will reduce the risk of rotting.

If the landscape is different levels then panels may be the way to go as we can install deeper gravel boards to retain the ground. Consisting of concrete ‘H’ posts, the gravel boards and panels in turn slide in and out for ease of treatment. The gravel boards come in 150mm or 300mm depth and can be stacked to easily retain and drops in ground height. There are also many different styles of panels available to you, to suit your preferences.

Consisting of timber posts and rails like the closeboard fencing, however the boards are squared sawn timber either 100mm x 25mm or 150mm x 25mm with gaps between to allow for wind to pass through. If privacy is still required, could be double sided meaning a board will be fixed to the back of the rail covering the gap between the front boards overlapping the edges on each side. This type of fencing can have the boards fixed vertically or horizontally.

Picket fencing can offer a discrete, visually pleasing fence, and although picket fencing can be fitted to various heights, it is usually used to define a boundary rather than adding privacy. This style of fencing lends itself to areas that are open to the winds and requires a lot less maintenance than a hedge. Picket fencing is usually installed on timber posts, but there are various concrete post options available as well as multiple options for the finish of the tops of the pales, e.g. sqaure, round or pointed. As each bay is built with individual pales, we can offer a bespoke fence with any size gap between the pales to suit your preference.

Trellis is a great way of adding privacy to your garden without having to increase the solid fence height which can sometimes block out that all important sunshine! We offer several different styles of trellis which vary in gap sizes and can be shaped in a decorative manner to finish off your garden with that extra little detail. Trellis can also be great for encouraging the growth of climbing plants.

Stock fencing is a visually pleasing solution to act as a boundary without a solid appearance. Its main use, as the name suggests, is to contain livestock. It offers a great solution where property backs onto grazing land and doesn’t block any views of the countryside. It is a very versatile style of fencing that can be fitted to any boundary shape and flows with the contours of the land. The stock fencing is pulled between intermediate full round timber posts which can be customised by adding barbed wire if required to add extra height and security for the livestock.
